Fabio Porto
Fabio Porto is a researcher at the National Laboratory for Scientific Computing since 2009. He holds a bachelor in Mathematics Modality Informatics from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (1987), Master in Informatics from the Pontifical University Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (1996) and PhD in Informatics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (2001), with a sandwich period at INRIA-Rocquencourt. Before joining LNCC, Fabio was a senior researcher at the Ecole Polytechnique Federal de Lausanne, between 2004 and 2008. From March to June 2020, he was a Visiting Research Professor at the National University of Singapore, Department of Computer Science. His research interest is the management and analysis of large volumes of data (Big Data), Management of Learning Models and Deep Learning. He is a member of ACM and SBC, Founder of the Data Extreme Lab (http://Dexl.lncc.br) of which he is coordinator. Fabio participates or has participated in the program committee of the VLDB, SIGMOD and SBBD conferences. He was General Coordinator of SBBD 2015 and General Coordinator of the 44th International Conference on Very Large Data Bases, in 2018. The researcher was a member of the Steering Committee of SBBD, from 2019 to 2022, and president of this same committee in the period 2020-2021.
